Researcher

Dr. "B" is an expert in craniofacial development and bone biology, having researched, and published extensively in the field. During his time at SUNY Buffalo and Temple University, Dr. B designed, funded (through grants), and carried out independent studies on topics including hormones and growth factors that regulate bone growth. This work helped form the basis for later FDA Clinical Trials that led to the sale and use of medical devices used by doctors today. Dr. B has presented these research findings throughout the US and abroad, including Australia!
While at Temple University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. B was also awarded a prestigious summer fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. His research there focused on gene therapies for the autoimmune disorder Sjogren's Syndrome.

Teacher

Dr. B has always enjoyed passing along his knowledge to others. While in school, he tutored fellow students in classes such as Gross Anatomy and Physiology.

As Staff Orthodontist and Orthodontic Mentor to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Womack Army Medical Center, Dr. Bateman was responsible for teaching Diagnosis and Treatment planning to the resident doctors. He also provided lectures on Human Growth and Development to colleagues at an Army-wide annual scientific meeting.
Dr. B continues to visit schools in the Rochester area to talk about careers in dentistry.

Orthodontist

Although a natural academic, Dr. B's true passion lies with people. Very simply put, the best part of his job is connecting with his patients. He continues to be fascinated and proud of the transformation his patients undergo, in both smile and personality.  When it comes to treatment types, Dr. B is particularly interested in adult treatment (including TMJ disorders), Invisalign treatment, and Early/Interceptive (Phase I) treatment.

Husband and Father

Away from the office, Dr. Bateman and his wife Jennifer have two wonderful children and enjoy playing golf, biking, hiking, boating on Sodus Bay, and of course, rooting for the Bills and Sabres!

Jennifer
Coordinator

Jennifer joined the office in the fall of 2015 and is excited to be part of such a wonderful team.

Jennifer's focus is to provide extraordinary care. She is available to answer questions throughout your treatment journey.

Jennifer's passions include nutrition, yoga, knitting, piano and most anything outdoors. She enjoys hiking, biking, boating and of course quality family time with Dr. Bateman and their two young children.  Like Dr. Bateman, Jennifer is also an Army veteran.

Also a practicing Optometrist, Jennifer volunteers her time providing examinations to children in the Rochester city school district.

Chris
Treatment Coordinator

Earning her degree in Health Studies and Dental Hygiene from Monroe Community College, Chris has been a part of the Bateman Orthodontics team since 2013. Born and raised in Brockport, Chris is married and has two sons. She enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, hiking, biking and cheering on her sons' soccer teams. Chris also relaxes by working in her garden trying to improve her green thumb.

Chris's focus is to give each patient and their family a wonderful experience. She is your primary contact during your first visit.

Amy
Scheduling Coordinator

A Brockport area resident for 26 years and a graduate of Brockport High School, Amy has been with the office since January 2016.

Amy has 3 children.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on her daughters soccer team, attending all the local festivals and relaxing by the pool with her kids.

We're excited to have Amy as part of the Bateman team!

Shannon
Orthodontic Assistant

Shannon loves animals and nature.  In her free time, if she's not sitting courtside at one of her children's basket ball games, she's hiking/rucking in the woods.  Her favorite place to be is the Smokey Mountains.  She's a big kid at heart and has two amazing boxers that bring her much joy.  Shannon loves to connect with her patients and encourages you to find her and say hello.  She's the one with the 'colorful' hair.

Jessica
Orthodontic Assistant

Jessica has been working in the dental field for 3 years.  She graduated from the dental assisting program in 2013.  She is CPR certified and in the process of furthering her education by taking the DANB.  She joined Dr. Bateman's office in May of 2016.  She lives locally with her husband Jon and her son Mavrick.  She and her family enjoy camping, kayaking, and spoiling their little boy.

Jamie
Orthodontic Assistant

Jamie is a Licensed Dental Assistant with a degree from MCC.  It was a great experience for her and she had a ton of fun learning the ins and outs of Dentistry!

Jamie married her wonderful husband Kurt in January of 2011. He is a Master Electrician who owns his own business and Jamie enjoys helping him with his company as well.

Though Jamie and Kurt do not have any children of their own (outside of their furry American Bulldog), she absolutely loves children!  Much of Jamie's time is spent with her neices and nephews.  She feels that it is very important to take special interest in young ones in order to build their confidence and provide a listening ear.

Jamie enjoys working hard when the result is rewarding both for herself and the patients she is working with.

She loves meeting new people and making new friends, so if you see her around....please say hello!
